David Martin (English politician)

David John Pattison Martin (born 5 February 1945) is a British politician who served as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Portsmouth South from 1987 until 1997. He stood again at the 2001 general election in the seat of Rugby and Kenilworth but was unsuccessful.

In the 2005 general election Martin stood in one of the few 'three way marginal' constituencies, Bristol West, but was defeated by the Liberal Democrat Stephen Williams. Martin finished third, polling 15429 votes; 2% lower than the Conservative candidate in 2001.
