David John Leckie (born 14 February 1951) is the Chief Executive Officer of the Seven Media Group. [1]
David Leckie was educated at Newington College and is an Economics graduate of Macquarie University. Prior to his appointment by Kerry Stokes to Seven, he was associated with the Nine Network for 23 years. Having joined GTV-9 (Melbourne) as a sales executive, he was promoted to National Sales Manager, then Nine Network Sales Director in 1982 at TCN-9 (Sydney). In August 1990 he became Managing Director of the Nine Network and in 1994 was appointed Chief Executive Officer. In 2001 he was appointed a Trustee of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust.
On the 15 April 2008 it was revealed that Leckie had been placed in an induced coma, battling complications from a recent injury to his finger.[2]
