David Kim (born 1963) is an internationally renowned violinist. He was born in Carbondale, Illinois. He was the only American to capture a prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1986. He has been the concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 1999. Mr. Kim is an active musician, performing with orchestras in Dallas, Pittsburgh, Korea, Moscow, and many more. Every season, he performs as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
