David Kennedy, 1st Earl of Cassilis

David Kennedy, 1st Earl of Cassilis (before 1478 – 9 September 1513) was a Scottish peer, the son of John Kennedy, 2nd Lord Kennedy.
He was married twice.
He married first Agnes Borthwick, daughter of Sir William Borthwick, 2nd Lord Borthwick, before July 1489. They had one child: Gilbert Kennedy, 2nd Earl of Cassilis (before 1500–1527)
He married second Margaret Boyd, daughter of Thomas Boyd, 1st Earl of Arran and Princess Mary Stewart of Scotland, on 9 August 1509.
He was invested as a Knight on 29 January 1487/88 by King James III. He succeeded to the title of 3rd Lord Kennedy between 24 July 1508 and 13 May 1509. He was created 1st Earl of Cassillis on 23 October 1509.
On 9 September 1513, he fought and died at Flodden Field.
