David Itkin

David Itkin is an American conductor and composer. He has served as Music Director and Conductor of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra since 1993[1] and Conductor of the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra since 2005.[2] 2007 marked his first season as Conductor of the Las Vegas Philharmonic.[3]
As a composer, he has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize twice. First in 2001, for Jonah, a tone poem for narrator and orchestra, and again for his 2005 work Exodus, an oratorio.[4]
Maestro Itkin will become Music Director of the University of North Texas Symphony Orchestra beginning in the fall of 2008[5]
