David Hynes (born March 31, 1967) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with West Coast and Fremantle in the AFL during the 1990s.
Hynes started his career at SANFL club Port Adelaide and was recruited by West Coast with picked 24 in the 1988 VFL Draft. He had to wait until the 1991 season to make his league debut and from 1992 to 1995 he played finals football every year, including West Coast's 1994 AFL Grand Final win over Geelong. A versatile player who was used as a key defender, key forward or ruckman, Hynes crossed to rival club Fremantle in 1996 and spent two seasons with the club. When not selected by Fremantle during this time he represented South Fremantle in the WAFL and was a member of their 1997 premiership team, winning the Simpson Medal for the best player in the Grand Final.
