David Gary Holdsworth (born 8 November 1968 in Walthamstow, London) is an English former professional footballer. He is currently manager of Northern Premier League Premier Division club Ilkeston Town.
He played as a centre half for Watford, Sheffield United, Birmingham City, Walsall, Bolton Wanderers, Scarborough and Gretna, and was capped once for England at Under-21 level.
After retiring from playing he became reserve team manager at Gretna, where he was appointed director of youth development in May 2006,[1] but was sacked in a cost-cutting exercise a few months later.[2] On the 20 May 2008, Holdsworth was introduced as the new manager of Ilkeston Town, his first managerial role.[3]
He is the twin brother of former footballer Dean Holdsworth.
