David Hentschel is an English recording engineer, writer and music producer. He has worked on such projects as George Harrison's All Things Must Pass. He has worked with such artists as Genesis, Elton John, Ringo Starr, Queen, Marti Webb, Andy Summers, and Mike Oldfield.
He also gave the music for Operation Daybreak. Not only a skilled producer and recording engineer he has also played synthesizer on several famous recordings, these include Elton John's "Rocket Man" and "Funeral for a Friend" from the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album. "Funeral for a Friend" is regarded by many as a classic in the use of early analogue synthesizer (ARP 2500 - Synthesizer type confirmed in email correspondence with David Hentschel, 30th Jan 2008) to create tonal feeling and effect. David Hentschel also wrote the theme music for the film Educating Rita.
Hentschel released an album through Ringo Starr's "Ring'O Records", called "Startling Music". It consists of a song-by-song cover of Ringo's first album.
