David Henry Bartleet

The Rt Rev.David Henry Bartleet was the fourth Bishop of Tonbridge [1]. He was born on 11 April 1929 and educated at St Edward's School, Oxford [2] and St Peter's Hall [3]. Ordained in 1957 after a period of study at Westcott House, Cambridge he began his career with a Curacy at St Mary-le-Tower, Ipswich [4]. From here he became Vicar of Edenbridge and then Bromley before elevation to the Episcopate in 1982, serving eventually for eleven years. He died on 1 November 2002.
