David Nkrumah Liebe Unger Hart is a church musician, sign painter, artist, puppeteer and actor. He is best known for his role as a puppeteer on The Junior Christian Science Bible Lesson Show a Los Angeles based public access program.[1] He also frequently appears on the television shows The Del Talk Show, the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! as well as Tim and Eric Nite Live. He has also appeared live with them on Tim and Eric's Awesome Tour. He can often be seen performing with his puppet "Doug the Dog" just outside the Hollywood Bowl after shows and is known to many concert goers simply as the "puppet man". He made an appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 2004 as well as on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2004. In 1990, he made an appearance in Golden Girls and in 1993 in Wings. He has also been known at times as David Liebe Hart, David Unger Hart, David King Liebe Hart and DL Hart.[2]

He was divorced in 1994, and is vocal about his abstinence from smoking, alcohol, drugs and his dislike of rap music,— but other parts of his life, especially since his arrival in Hollywood in 1976, are less clear. In interviews he revealed that he served as a cook in the Navy at one point in his life He claims to have gotten his start in Hollywood touring with comedian Robin Williams and from making an appreance on The Gong Show in 1977. He also appeared in a commentary on Tim And Eric's Awesome Show! Great Job! Season one DVD and claimed to have been abducted by Aliens called Korendians when he was a child. Throughout late April and early May 2008 he performed live as part of T&E's Awesome Tour 2008.[3] He will appear in two episodes of a third season of Tim and Eric's Awesome Show, Great Job! in July 2008.

David Hart writes his own music, mostly about religion, aliens, women, and his life. He has teamed up with his friend, and fellow public access host Adam Papagan, to create music together, with David writing lyrics and singing, and Adam making all of the music in GarageBand, as well as playing guitars. They have one album released together, titled Public Access (album). It is currently available on iTunes.
