David H. Steinberg is a screenwriter. He wrote the screenplays for American Pie 2, Slackers and National Lampoon's Barely Legal.

David H. Steinberg grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut, entered Yale at age 16, and earned his law degree from Duke University, where he served as editor-in-chief of the law review.[1] After four years of entertainment law in Atlanta and New York, he abandoned his legal career to attend USC's Peter Stark Producing Program. Before graduating, Steinberg sold his first spec script called Slackers. Steinberg was immediately hired by Universal to write the first two drafts of American Pie 2.

Steinberg also wrote After School Special, a story about three high school friends who attempt to make a porn movie. The movie was eventually released under the title National Lampoon's Barely Legal.
Steinberg also wrote and directed The Babysitter, which can be viewed online exclusively at Atom Films.
His latest screenplay to go into production is for the DreamWorks animated feature film Puss In Boots due in theaters in 2011. He is currently re-writing the feature comedy Sprung for New Line Cinema.
Steinberg has also written other scripts for studios. These include:
- Only Human, a comedy
- The Fool's Errand, a family animation script he sold as a pitch
- Other People's Wishes, a rewrite of an existing comedy script
- Love at Second Bite, a sequel to the 1979 comedy "Love at First Bite."
In addition, Steinberg is attached to direct his feature comedy "Phys. Ed" for Reliant Pictures, set to go into production later this year.
