David Fletcher is one of the top young mountain bikers and cyclo-cross riders in Britain.
Fletcher is rapidly proving to be one of Great Britain's most talented sports stars and is expected to play a role in the 2012 Olympics in London.
In 2006, he travelled to New Zealand for the Junior World Championships for Mountain Biking. After an impressive performance finishing 18th, he has gained support from all over the country with the Olympic Development Programme (ODP) putting him with the most talented sport stars in the UK.
He later went to Holland to take part in the European Championships in which he finished 33rd. Many believe he would finished with a better result had he not had mechanical problems with his bike.
2006/07 is his final year of competition in the junior category, and will soon be moving up into the U23's where he will compete against some of the best mountain bikers and cyclocross riders in the world.
In September 2007, Fletcher competed in the World Championships in Fort William, Scotland. It was in this race that he achieved his greatest ever result, finishing 3rd in the junior age group.
Fletcher attended the Dukeries college. He then decided to pursue a career as a professional mountain biker.
