David Filmore (born David Leonard on August 12, 1975) is an Australian-born writer, director, filmmaker and venture philanthropist best known for minor roles in the films Little Nicky and Bedazzled, the television drama The West Wing, and President and Founder of the nonprofit organization ZapMeNow.org.

Born in Melbourne, Australia to Jewish immigrants, he took the stage name David Filmore at age 20. Filmore attended Yeshivah College and the Rudolph Steiner school of Melbourne before majoring in Literature and Psychology at Deakin University.

He was trained as an actor and stuntman and holds a black belt in Taekwondo, is a skilled gymnast and traceur.
In 1999 Filmore was an announcer and host of the radio show David Filmore Live on KLAS FM 89.7 in Los Angeles, and reported from the red carpet for the 2000 Academy Awards. He appeared in the minor uncredited role of “Goo Person” in the 2000 Adam Sandler movie Little Nicky, and as a Basketball Fan in the 2000 movie Bedazzled starring Brendan Fraser, a remake of the 1967 Dudley Moore film.
David Filmore is the Founder and President of the nonprofit organization www.ZapMeNow.org. It is devoted to supporting scientific research with the goal of speeding the arrival of devices and gadgets that appear in science fiction films and literature such as lightsabers from the Star Wars films, ray guns and jet packs. The foundation was formed in 2006 and it is unknown how much money has been raised and what advancements towards its goals have been made.
