David Feeney

David Feeney (born 1970) is an Australian politician, an Australian Senator-Elect and as the Assistant National Secretary of the Australian Labor Party. He is considered one of the most influential figures in the Labor Unity faction which dominates the Victorian branch of the Party. In March 2006 he was endorsed as a Labor candidate for the Australian Senate in Victoria on the 'ticket' in the third position, which he won.

He was the Campaign Director for Labor during the 2006 South Australian state election. [1]

He worked for the Premier of Victoria Steve Bracks as one of his top advisers as Director of Strategy and before that was the State Secretary of the Victorian Branch where he enjoyed considerable success as a fund-raiser and campaign director. [2]

Before that he was an official in the national office of the Transport Workers Union. He holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from Monash University and was previously an official of the Melbourne University Student Union.
