David F. Girard-diCarlo

David F. Girard-diCarlo (b. 1942 in a suburb of Philadelphia Pennsylvania) is an U.S. lawyer and Diplomat.

He made his education as a lawyer at the Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia and at Villanova University. After completing his studies, he began his career as a lawyer in the national public transportation area, at first at the South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority and from 1981, during the presidency of George H. W. Bush, at Amtrak.

In 1991, Girard-diCarlo began his work for Blank Rome LLP, one of the major law firms in Philadelphia. For several years he has been managing director of subsidiary Blank Rome Government Relations LLC, a lobbying organization in Washington, DC.

By decision of the U.S. Senate David F. Girard-diCarlo follows Susan McCaw in 2008 as U.S. ambassador of Austria.
