David Eastwood

Professor David Eastwood is the current Chief Executive of HEFCE, since 1 September 2006. Prior to this, he was Vice-Chancellor of the University of East Anglia (UEA).
He has also held the posts of Chief Executive of the Arts and Humanities Research Board and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales Swansea. His academic specialism is modern history, and he was fellow and senior tutor of Pembroke College, Oxford, and is an Honorary Fellow of St Peter's College, Oxford, his alma mater (1980).
Professor Eastwood is also Chair of the QAA Steering Group for Benchmarking and a member of the QAA Board. He is married with three children. He enjoys music, politics, walking, wine; and includes writing on football among his publications.
He is married with three children and an avid supporter of Manchester United.
