David Crellin

David Crellin b1961 in Hackenthorpe, a public housing project in the former socialist republic of South Yorkshire. He is an English actor known for his roles on Emmerdale as Billy Hopwood , The Cops as Alan Wakefield and Coronation Street as gangster Jimmy Clayton. He also starred as Jimmy Grainger in the first series of Waterloo Road on BBC One. Dragged away from the quiet comfort of jamming and poetry writing in the privacy of his own by a former domineering girlfriend he became involved with the Crucible Youth Theatre under the influence of Michael Boyd Royal Shakespeare Company, Christopher Wilkinson and Nickolas Kaye. From there he attended Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama. He is the former Chair of Amber Personal Management - a theatrical management agency based in Manchester, UK.
He's 43 you know and spends his spare time doing domestic chores and extreme dog walking, occasionally writing poems, songs and making home movies in and around his adopted home of Horwich.
He is happily married with three boys, two cats and a dog.
