David Clarke (lecturer)

Dr. David Clarke is a British university lecturer. He obtained his Ph.D in "Folklore and Cultural Tradition" in 1999, and now teaches Media Studies at Sheffield Hallam University. He also lectures on the subjects of supernatural belief and urban legends at the National Centre for English Cultural Tradition (part of the University of Sheffield).
David Clarke is also a freelance journalist and author, specializing in the subjects of ufology and the paranormal analyzed from a psychosocial perspective. He is a regular contributor to Fortean Times and has spoken at their UnConvention. His recent publications include The Angel of Mons (2004) and Out of the Shadows (2002), the latter being an examination of the UK government's study of the UFO phenomenon from the Second World War to the present.
He is a ufologist and co-owner and popular writer for UK-UFO. [1] He also has a website with veteran ufologist Andy J. Roberts called 'flying saucery'. [2] His latest book with Roberts is Flying Saucerers: 'A Social History of UFOlogy which was released in April 2007.
