David Charles (hymn-writer)

David Charles (October 11, 1762 – September 2, 1834), was a Welsh hymn-writer.
David Charles was the younger brother of the Methodist leader Thomas Charles "of Bala". Himself a Methodist minister, he helped to establish the "Home Mission". His best-known hymns include "O fryniau Caersalem ceir gweled" and "O Iesu Mawr".
