David Biespiel

David Biespiel (born February 18, 1964) is an American poet born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Houston. From 1993-1995 he was a Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University and in 1997 received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Literature. He is a regular columnist on poetry for The Oregonian and his prose and poetry has appeared in American Poetry Review, The New York Times Book Review, Parnassus, Poetry, and The New Republic. His books of poetry include: Shattering Air (1996), Pilgrims & Beggars (2002), and Wild Civility (2003). He is currently the editor of Poetry Northwest magazine.[1]
