David Barlow was a fictional character in UK Soap Opera Coronation Street who was played by Alan Rothwell. He married Irma Ogden in 1965 and a year later they bought the Corner Shop from Lionel Petty. David died in 1970 in a car crash in Australia. His son Darren survived the crash but died in hospital the following day from his injuries.
