Davi (tribe)

Davi (also spelled as Dawee, Daavi or Daway) is a Pashtun tribe and the brother of the Kakar tribe. Both are the sons of Ghourghusht tribe. Ghourghusht was the third and youngest son of Qais Abdur Rashid, the father of Pashtuns. Davis are traditionally known for their bravery, hardiness and simplicity. They are said to be hospitable. They are living in Balochistan, especially in Quetta, Pishin, Zhob, Chaman and everywhere where Kakars live. In Sarhad they are living in Katlang village and in Sawaldhere village.

Their most famous chief is Davy Junior, who was also their founding member.
