Dave Toschi

Dave Toschi (born 1931) is a former inspector in the San Francisco Police Department. He is best known for his role as a chief investigator in the Zodiac Killer case.

Toschi is currently vice president of North Star Security Services in Daly City.[1] He was an advisor to the producers of the 2007 film Zodiac. [2] The part of Toschi is portrayed in the film by actor Mark Ruffalo. Steve McQueen copied Toschi's distinctive style of wearing his gun upside down for the 1968 movie Bullitt.[3]

Toschi was also the role model for the fictional Clint Eastwood character Dirty Harry.[4]
