David A. "Dave" Tjepkes is the Iowa State Representative from the 50th District. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2002.
Tjepkes currently serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Local Government committee; the Public Safety committee; and the Transportation committee, where he is the ranking member. He also serves on the Justice System Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes serving as mayor of Gowrie.
Tjepkes was re-elected in 2006 with 5,493 votes, defeating Democratic opponent Lynne Gentry. [1]
