Dave Ritchie (ice hockey)

Dave Ritchie (January 12, 1892 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada - ?/?/19??) - was a professional hockey player who played 6 seasons in the National Hockey League(NHL) for the Montreal Wanderers, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Arenas, Quebec Bulldogs and Montreal Canadiens. He scored the first goal in NHL history.

Ritchie was one of 12 players who were members of the 1917–18 Wanderers squad. The Wanderers home arena was destroyed by fire only six games into the 22 game schedule. This event forced the league to disperse the Wanderers players via a draft to one of the remaining three teams (Toronto, Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators) in the National Hockey League.
Ritchie was the last active player for the Quebec Bulldogs, and was one of the last active players for the Wanderers as well.
