Dave Pino (born 1977) is a rock musician from Waltham, Massachusetts.
[edit] Life and career
Pino was born in 1977 to immigrant parents. He began playing guitar in fourth grade when he was 10 years old. When he was 12 he started a band and started writing music. He played with this band for several years, and by 1999 they were calling themselves Waltham, after their home town.
While still in the band Waltham, he joined the band Damone, with whom he signed a record deal with RCA. According to Pino, most of the songs he played with Damone were "old songs I wrote once about a girl." Soon after releasing an album with Damone, he had to leave the band to help with his family's business.
In 2003, soon after he left Damone, he started a hellbilly band called Graveyard BBQ, who have had their music featured on American Chopper and the Playstation 2 game Guitar Hero.
While still in Damone, Pino joined a band call No Allegiance. He met the members of No Allegiance while they were skipping school and smoking marijuana in the woods beyond his back yard. He played with them for one gig, and they were all arrested. While they were in jail, Pino became a full member of the band.
While doing sound for Waltham, Pino witnessed a performance by Robby Roadsteamer, for whom he later became a touring guitar player. He later started a band called Jetfuel with members of Sam Black Church, a local Boston hardcore band. Eventually, his schedule became too crouded and he quit all the bands he was in.
Eventually, he met Piggy D. of Rob Zombie and Amen fame. He helped start Piggy D.'s solo band, until Pigy D. was recruited by Rob Zombie. After that, Pino says he went into a terrible depression. Soon, however, Ken Susi of Unearth asked Pino to join his band called Burn Your Wishes. Other members of Burn Your Wishes include Adam Dutkiewicz. It is suspected, however, that since other members of this band have such busy schedules, it will take some time before it amounts to anything.
Later, Pino was approached by Seemless to be a touring bass player. When he is not touring with Seemless, Pino records bands in his studio and is trying to create a band with the best musicians he knows.
Pino went on tour as guitarist for Powerman 5000 for their last tour run of 2007.
