[edit] Biography

Moly as he is generally known, has set the fastest sidecar race time of the Snaefell mountain course, at the 2005 TT, of 59 minutes and 6.39 seconds an average race speed of 114.91 mph for 3 laps.

Dave Molyneux and Craig Hallam crashed during Thursday afternoon practice session for the 2006 Isle of Man TT Races at Rhencullen after the sidecar outfit experienced a 145 mph Donald Campbell "bluebird style-flip."[1] The racing sidecar outfit was destroyed in the resulting fire and Dave Molyneux was unable to compete in the 2006 TT races due to injury.

He is also a builder of road racing sidecars under the name DMR, Dave Molyneux Racing, and has supplied sidecars to many other Isle of Man TT winners including 10 time TT winner Rob Fisher and 2006 double winner Nick Crowe.

In 2007 Dave Molyneux competed in Superside, the world championship for sidecars on a Suzuki powered Windle and at the Isle of Man TT on a Honda powered DMR both with passenger Rick Long. Moly won both 2007 Sidecar TT Race "A" and Race "B". This now makes him the equal 3rd most successful IOM TT rider of all time with John McGuinness, behind Joey Dunlop and Mike Hailwood, and one of the greatest living TT legends.

In 2008 Dave will again be competing in Superside using Suzuki GSXR1000 power, but in a LCR chassis with passenger Johnny Briggs, (this chassis was first used by Dave for the last few rounds of the 2007 season). He will also be appearing at the Isle of Man TT races on a GSXR600 powered DMR F2 outfit with experienced TT passenger Andy Smith, marking a move away from Honda power at this event for the first time in many years.
