David Andrew "Dave" Merris (born October 13, 1980 in Rotherham, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for Guiseley AFC.
Merris won York City's Clubman of the Year award for the 2004–05.[2] Merris signed a new deal wit York City at the end of the 2004–05 season.[3] Merris was released by York City at the end of the 2005–06 and subsequently signed for Harrogate Town.[4] His name is synonymous with the popular chant "David Merris, David Merris, I don't have no time for no monkey business" (to the tune of 'Living On My Own' by Freddie Mercury).
On the 20th March 2008 Dave joined Guiseley AFC from Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee.[5]
