Dave Johnson (basketball)

Dave M. Johnson (born November 16, 1970, in Morgan City, Louisiana) is an American former professional basketball player who had a brief career in the NBA in the early 1990s.
Johnson attended Syracuse University, where he was a key reserve but primarily a defensive specialist his first two seasons. As a junior and senior he developed into a high scoring small forward. He was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 26th pick in the 1992 NBA Draft. He played one season for Portland before moving on to the Chicago Bulls in his second and final NBA season, where he played 17 games in 1993-94. He was with the Charlotte Hornets during the 1995 pre-season, but was waived before the regular season began.
In the 1997/98 season he played for the Italian Serie A2 team Pasta Baronia Napoli.
Johnson last played professionally with a team in Santurce, Puerto Rico, in 2001.
