From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(April 24th 1961) A guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Southern California who was the founding member of the roots rockabilly band The Paladins in the early 1980's with Thomas Yearsley. The Paladins toured for more than twenty years. In 2003 Dave Gonzalez and fellow veteran musician, Chris Gaffney founded the western soul band The Hacienda Brothers. The band received critical recognition for their self-titled debut album and were nominated in 2007 for "Group of the Year" by the American Music Association. Their latest album was wrapped up early 2008, but sadly, Chris Gaffney passed away on April 17, 2008 of liver disease. A tour to support the tribute album is in the works.

Dave Gonzalez is well known for his guitar playing and made the list of the "Top 101 All-Time Unsung Guitar Heroes" as selected by Guitar Magazine. Dave Gonzalez is endorsed by Fender. Fender made a Signature Model as a nod to Gonzalez calling it the Guild Paladin (X-550). It was modeled from an original 1957 Guild that Gonzalez played while with the Paladins.
