Dave Brailsford

Dave Brailsford MBE (born 1963) is British Cycling's Performance Director.
Brailsford was brought up in North Wales, a son of an Alpine Mountain Guide.[1]
Brailsford competed in France for four years as a professional cyclist before returning to the UK at the age of 23 to study for a degree in sports science and psychology before going on to study for an MBA in Sheffield Business School. He has been involved with cycling throughout his career, he was first employed by British Cycling as an advisor when Lottery funding began. He moved on to become Programme Director before becoming the Performance Director.[2]
Brailsford led the British cycling team to many victories at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, his contribution was later acknowledged with an MBE on the Queen's Birthday Honours list.[2]
