[edit] Early career
Between 1988 and 1997, Dave Benson Phillips was also a presenter on Playdays, especially its memorable "Playground Stop" segment, in which he enabled viewers to become knowledgeable about Makaton, a basic sign language. After Get Your Own Back discontinued production, he kept a busy work schedule in children's and preschool educational television, particularly for the BBC and Playhouse Disney, including a role in Planet Cook, portraying Bouma, an orange-furred Yeti, alongside popular British chef Kevin Woodford, and TV personality Ruby Wax, whose participation was limited to voice only. He also hosted a local weekly segment on the Worthing, West Sussex radio station, Splash FM.

Dave Benson Phillips is an instructor at London Academy of Media, Film and TV, providing insight into presenting for children's TV, and has also released two music albums aimed at young children—Nap Attack and Are We There Yet?, as well as a series of children's music CDs. He established "Benson's Big Red Mover", a personality-based item-moving service and, as a member of Chester Benson Productions, has been touring with his show, Get Up and Go!.
