Jawahar Vidya Mandir is an educational institute in Jharkhand located at Shyamali Colony (also commonly known as Mecon Colony, previously known as H.S.L Colony), Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.

The school features education from the Prep to the Senior Secondary levels. It is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and is managed by a School Managing Committee appointed by MECON, Ranchi.

The school has a strength of around 5,500 students and the schooling based on CBSE pattern is offered from Nursery to Std XII. There are 7 sections named A-G in each class till Class Xth. The school runs in two sessions- morning and afternoon for XI and XII. This is so primarily because of the large number of students who apply for admission in the Science stream in the school. The cut-off for admission in Science stream is well above 92%. The popularity of this school amounts to such extents that a majority of students taking admission into classes XI and XII are from different cities and states who earn their admission owing to their excellent performance in the previous grades and complete their schooling while staying in lodges and hostels away from their families. The school also has well-equipped labs for physics, chemistry, biology, computers (each 2) and a maths lab for class IX-X which is one of its kind in Ranchi. The school also offers two well-furnished libraries - The General Library (for general use) and The Reference Library (for the students of class XI-XII). The school has a great history with a large number of alumni at important positions throughout the globe after pursuing higher education from institutes such as the seven Indian Institutes of Technology, BITS-Pilani All India Institute of Medical Sciences,Manipal Institute Of Technology, BIT Mesra, Indian School of Mines, Vellore Institute of Technology, NLSIU, NUJS,M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology,Bangalore, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, National Institutes of Technology, Cochin University of Science and Technology, etc. The school gained much of its present pre-eminence under the administration of Mr. R.E.Singh, Principal(1983-2000). This was built upon by his successor, Mr. D.R.Singh (2003^{Needs Validation}-till date) under whose guidance the school made a greater impact in the national arena not only in academics but also in sports and extra curricular activities.
