[edit] Sigma Chi

Dauerad: Welcome! Thank your for your edits on the Sigma Chi page; are you a Sig? We have a userbox that you can copy from my userpage if you are. A list of alumni chapters is a great idea, but it should be a separate page, like the undergraduate chapter list. I look forward to editing with you! —ScouterSig 14:41, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the help. We need to keep the links in the list to the chapters web sites. Making an additional External Links section is going to be wasteful and redundant. With 100,000 plus non-active alumni out there we need all the help we can in promoting our alumni chapters and associations to help get them involved again in the Sigma Chi. What about a listing of provinces? The Eastern Province has a web site as well. In Hoc, Dauerad 16:49, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
A list of provinces? That may be "too much;" i.e. not relevant or interesting to enough people to merit a page. Although... we could add Province info to the Active chapter list, possibly. Let's do a strawpoll about that first. And as far as external links go, Wikipedia has a pretty strong policy (see WP:EL) about not being used as a repository of links or for self-promotion. So a link to the sigmachi.org site would be the only EL that would be allowed/useful. And if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask! —ScouterSig 17:58, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Not too worried about that the links. They're not leading to promotional sites or venue raising sites. Just more detailed information on the subject. Considering how deeply that is burried on the Sigma Chi web site, what we have is far more useful for brothers trying to find info on Sigma Chi in their area. If wikipedia wants to police them, so be it. But as Sigma Chis we need to be loyal to the fraternity and our brothers first, not second to wikipedia. In Hoc, Dauerad 20:41, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
While a province only page would be too small, it wouldn't be very useful either. What I propose is a listing of chapters, both alumni and undergraduate by province. I haven't been able to find that info anywhere via Google other than an outdated web site. Headquarters lists the provinces for the undergrads, but the listing for alumni is not there. If it's not tied to chapters, it's small enough for the main page. In Hoc, Dauerad 12:27, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Scoutersig: Hello. Yes, I am the President of the Washington Alumni Chapter. I created a page using the undergraduate page as a template, but I'm not sure I linked to it correctly in the main page. The page name is: Sigma_chi_alumni_chapters. Dauerad 15:07, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Great start. I moved the page to List of Sigma Chi Alumni Chapters; if you link to it elsewhere, use that name. The new name is more in line with the standard naming sequence. Great idea, and In HocScouterSig 15:37, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Let's keep in mind that this is supposed to be a source of information, a reference. Nothing that relates to the topic is too much. Let's not digress to form over function. In Hoc, Dauerad 18:09, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
I have a picture from one of the Benjamin Piatt Runkle Memorials that I host in Washington, DC, in September. Can you add it to the Benjamin Piatt Runkle Page? You can get the image from here: http://www.dcsigmachi.org/images/uploads/Runkle_White_Rose_122803b.jpg. In Hoc, Dauerad 18:15, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Who took this? And do they give permission for it to be used mercilessly? Also, I would assume that it is a group of alumni from the DC chapter? Wikipedia needs this info, or it may be deleted.—ScouterSig 01:01, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Grand Praetor Jon Miller took it. I don't know about mercilessly, but to include in Sigma Chi web sites, yes. It's a mix of alumni and undergraduates from Virginia. The brother on the right with the crest on his blazer is George Hooper the warden for the memorial. In Hoc, Dauerad 12:23, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Picture

Brother, here is the picture you requested to be uploaded. Note: it is already listed for possible deletion due to the fact that you only wanted it used for a specific purpose (total free-license should be given for regular Wikipedia pictures). Click on the picture to go to that page to learn more about how picture licensing on Wikipedia works (or doesn't work, sometimes). —ScouterSig 15:46, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Grilled cheese sandwich

Hey there. I note you seem to be involved in an edit war on Grilled cheese sandwich. Please note that our three revert rule states that users should not make more than three reverts in a content dispute in 24 hours. Repeated reverts are unconstructive - please take discussion to the talk page. I would ask that you please undo your most recent revert that takes you beyond three reverts in the past 24 hours, and cease edit warring in favour of discussion. Thanks. Dauerad: One was my mistake not knowing how to use the redo feature ... adding comments. But I think we've already come to a satisfactory conclusion having pointed out that I wasn't doing what they were accusing me of without following the link.
