This template requires that Portal:Current events/DateHeader2 (talk, backlinks, edit) has been applied to the date, which is the case for dates from 1 July 2006.
Also the template uses #time, therefore the range is restricted to the period 1970 - 2038.
The template also produces an invisible external link for use with Special:Linksearch:
