Ignore the comment for my last edit, I conflated dasymetric with proportional symbol as the description for the former on thematic map is really weak. I stand by the edit though, as it is still possible to create this style of map in GIS. For instance, in ArcMap you'd probably use the Spatial Analyst extension to generate a smooth grid. --Belg4mit 21:47, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
