Daspan is a village in Jalore district of Rajasthan state in India. It is 25 km west of Bhinmal . The place is known for the heritage hotel Castle Durjan Niwas .And it is also very beautiful village with all the communities residing peacefully together ie Jains,Rajputs,Sardars,Mochi etc.
Castle Durjan Niwas is a small but beautiful fortress palace built in the early 19th century by the Rathore Champawat clan of Marwar. Many changes and additions were made into the old fortress and present structure is just a shadow of the original. The building was originally built in the Indo - European style of architecture with separate parts for ladies and gents.
Most of the Jain communities people resides in South India's cities and some of them in Mumbai.
Daspan thikana was founded in 1713 A.D. by grant of a jagir of two villages by then ruler of Marwar.
