Das Wunder der Heliane

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Das Wunder der Heliane (German for The Miracle of Heliane), Op.20 is an opera in three acts by Erich Wolfgang Korngold with a libretto by Hans Muller, after Hans Kaltneker. It was first performed at the Hamburg State Opera on 7 October 1927. Unfortunately the score is out of print as the publisher don't see the necessity to keep it in print because of the lack of interest due to few performances. A suite for violin and piano based upon the music from the famous aria "Ich ging zu ihm" is in print at Schott publishing.
