DAS Building bombing

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The DAS Building bombing was a truck bomb attack in Bogotá, Colombia, on December 6, 1989. The bomb targeted the Administrative Department of Security (DAS) headquarters.

A truck parked near the building exploded, killing 52 people and injuring about 1,000.[1] The blast levelled several city blocks and destroyed more than 300 commercial properties.[2]

It is widely believed that the Medellín Cartel was responsible for the attack. The same group was believed to be behind the bombing of Avianca Flight 203 the previous month.
