[edit] Reply to Ten Floors
There is no assertion of notability in the article other than the fact that they supposedly played in front of 30,00 people one time. Also, everything in the article is compeltely unsourced. I'm going to take a wild stab and guess that you didn't happen to check the Wikilinks for the studio albums and singles. Those are good for a laugh because they are completely unrelated to the band. The article may look legitimate, but the subject is in no way notable. I would encourage you to prove otherwise. I'm considering reapplying the speedy tag. Why don't you let an admin take a look at it? --Cyrus Andiron 13:44, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- The main assertion of notability is that they won a regional music competition. Whether or not this is enough can be debated at AFD, but it doesn't meet the CSD in my opinion. Darksun 13:48, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone can say that they won a regional competition, but where is the proof? Are we just taking that statement on the merit of the editor? --Cyrus Andiron 13:53, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Unsourced material isn't criteria for speedy deletion, and hoaxes are explicitly exluded from speedy deletion. Darksun 13:57, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking a look over the Ten Floors page that has I've been updating today. This is my first attempt on Wikipedia, so please forgive this afternoon's lack of sources/references. This has now been recitified so apologies for the delay. Jackgnic —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 17:01, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion
Thank you for deleting that "article". I was actually trying to leave a comment on someone else's talk page using the comment tool and somehow it created an article. It's a little odd to say the least. I edited the originator's talk page to let them know of the issue. --BlindEagletalk~contribs 15:43, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Nice work on getting to a new page article before me. Keep up the good work! Twinkle rocks ;) -Domthedude001 17:45, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] de-speedying of various footballers
Hi. WP:BIO states that playing in a professional league may be evidence of notability. "Failure to meet these criteria is not conclusive proof that a subject should not be included; conversely, meeting one or more does not guarantee that a subject should be included". If all professional footballers are immediately notable then 100s of 1000s of them are! Surely there must be additional evidence? andy 21:03, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, but playing in a professional league gives enough assertion of notability not to qualify for CSD A7. If you wish to submit the articles for consideration at AFD, you can do so and each article can be considered individually. Darksun 21:10, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] SparkPeople
Thanks for removing the speedy deletion tags on SparkPeople. What can I do to make sure it doesn't keep getting tagged? Jknepfle 16:48, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not really sure WHY it was tagged, it's notable and it isn't blatant advertising (though one or two sentences could be a little too promotional). You could try the rfc procedure, this will help bring in a wider view of the article and see what suggestions can be made to improve it. Darksun 16:52, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks a lot. I'll look into it. Jknepfle 16:58, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you
Thanks a lot for removing the tag. Regards. --Nemissimo 13:06, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ibiza syndrome
Okay, maybe it's not G1, strictly, but it doesn't fall under any other cat, except maybe G4, and you can see from Leolionnxxx's talk page it was deleted before, and he was told not to recreate it. —Ignatzmicetalkcontribs 16:23, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- G4 only applies to articles previously deleted as the result of an AFD, not previously speedied articles. If it doesn't fall under any speedy criteria, then it can't be speedied. Darksun 16:34, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Last.fm & GFDL
Please see my response at Talk:T Power. Thanks. -- JLaTondre 16:08, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, no it's not. I gone to that link and I see no such text. I have even searched for it. Are you logged in to that site? If so, try logging out and looking cause it's not there when I check. The only copyright info displayed is the "© 2002 – 2007 Last.fm Ltd.". -- JLaTondre 16:31, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- How odd, you're right, it does only appear when you log in :/ But it's still GFDL, it's mentioned in the FAQ that their Wiki is GFDL. http://www.last.fm/help/faq/?category=Artist/Label%20Wiki%20Pages Darksun 16:35, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reference. I've restored the article. -- JLaTondre 16:38, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:Darksun/The Lancashire Hotpots
Per DRV, this article was userfied for improvement. Some possible sources are suggested in the DRV. Once it has an assertion of notability, preferrably sourced, please move it back to article space. GRBerry 02:40, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] lancaster uni/gf6
Well, it was so long in the past that it should be past-tense, and they are no longer an active group. You wouldn't put the Birmingham 6 in the present tense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Superruss (talk • contribs) 11:49, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] IGI Global
hello, I'm new on en-wiki and perhaps I missed the discussion on notability criteria for international publishers - if there was one, please, give me a link. In my field IGI Global is pretty big, more info can be found quite easily here. Just sheer volume of google hits is also a hint. Finally, you can look at academic libraries, such as at Harvard University, to find hundreds of their books there... Is it notable and verifiable enough? Please advice. Pundit|utter 21:44, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- update: I added 2 sources. Notability criteria still uncertain. Pundit|utter 23:01, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- The criteria would be WP:CORP, which it probably meets. However, there has to be evidence that it meets the criteria within the article itself. Darksun 01:39, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] lancaster uni/gf6
they may be relevant to you or people involved, but not to a page solely concerned with Lancaster university. if you want all that other superfluous info on wikipedia create a gf6 page. Superruss (talk) 11:52, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of In the House - In a Heartbeat
An editor has nominated In the House - In a Heartbeat, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/In the House - In a Heartbeat and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:44, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Darwinia.jpeg
Thanks for uploading Image:Darwinia.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:17, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I thought you might be interested in the above article, which has managed that important first step of not being speedily deleted. Cheers. --Sturm 15:35, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
