[edit] Welcome to Esperanza!
Welcome, DarknessLord, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
[edit] Welcome to the Kindness Campaign!
Just my way of saying thanks to newcomers to the Kindness Campaign... a delicious home-baked chocolate chip cookie! Yum. :D ♥ Kylu (talk • contribs • email • logs • count) |
[edit] Concordia Newsletter
Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.
[edit] Help out now!
- Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
- Give people the Civility Barnstar.
- Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
- Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
- Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.
[edit] Decision Making
The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.
If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

Darkness<font color="green">Lord</font>
Copy this signature and put it in place of your signature under preferences. Click on "raw signature" and save. If you want to change the color of the word "Darkness" put a <font color="color"> before it and a </font> after it. The word color in quotes is where you would pick the color you want. Make sure you keep the quotation marks.
Example: If you wanted the word "Darkness" to be black, this would be your signature...
<font color="black">Darkness</font><font color="green">Lord</font
And it would look like this: DarknessLord

[edit] A heads up
I have a crazy feeling that User:A Man In Black might revert all of our work on the Legendary Pokémon page. Starting tomorrow, I suppose. Hopefully not, but damn! That was a lot of work! -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 06:04, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- When I was online last night I saw on my watchlist that he thought that the page looked terrible, and that he was going to do something about it. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 20:13, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- Waaaa!!... It took me forever to upload those images. And for you to add all the colors, and for me to change the font colors in the group boxes to black. Now I have a bunch of sprites in my sandbox that I can't do anything with. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 21:11, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

- It wasn't scolding, but you hit the nail on the head. It's okay, we can fix the page. We just don't need images and tables anymore. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 22:29, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

I had noticed that someone had mistakenly removed your name from the membership list, so I took the liberty of re-adding it to the list, myself. Hopefully nobody will throw a fit over it. Take care. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 05:03, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

You can't be all the bending types, who do you think you are, the Avatar? H2P 18:33, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes I can be all bending types, I am an Avatar of the Wikipedia dimension.DarknessLord 22:31, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
You know, this whole bending types thing could have been its own section. I'll do that now. DarknessLord 21:01, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "Fair Use Image"
Sorry, I forgot my password, but this is the Runescape Junkie. Anyways, what do you mean by deleting the fair use image? And what images are they? Cheers - 207.108.179.160 22:44, 23 October 2006 (UTC) (The Runescape Junkie, logged off)
- Well, since I can't remember my password, I can't remove them, as it would be considered "vandalism," so I don't know what to do... But seriously, I can't believe that breaches Florida law... would that apply to me if I was in Utah? 207.108.179.160 21:29, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Esperanza User Page Award
Congratulations, DarknessLord, you have been nominated for the Esperanza User Page Contest! The judges have received the fifteen entries, and are ready to start judging. The judges will take a week to complete the judging process, and they will contact all the participants when the judging is done.
Please drop by the contest page for contest updates and questions. Take care, and good luck! Daniel.Bryant [ T · C ] 09:39, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your Userpage
Hi there! I noticed that your page has an image made by Redvers on it. Just a note to make sure you have asked Redvers as I think he may have made it for his own Userpage. Thanks! --Ali K 09:56, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, sorry if it is an inconvience --Ali K 22:40, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

-
- Oh, and whilst I'm passing... you're using images in your signature. We really don't like this as it is murder on the servers and also creates layout problems. Would you like to remove the images and perhaps simplify your signature as the code takes up a lot of edit window too. Thanks! ➨ ЯEDVERS 20:03, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/DarknessLord
I've just closed your RfA as you had withdrawn. I don't believe that you will achieve consensus on this run, so why not take the advice given and go back in two or three months' time? Let me know if you do want to reopen your RfA! (aeropagitica) 22:39, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- You can't delete it as A)you're not an admin and B) these pages are kept for future reference if you ever decide to re-RfA again. I'll close it as per procedure. Please indicate on the above page that you explicitly withdraw with something like I withdraw this nomination +signature. Regards, (aeropagitica) 22:45, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Article about Wikipedia Users
Hello,
I am a freelance writer working on an article about the wide array of people who make Wikipedia their life, their passion, their pastime. Wikipedia “addicts” if you will. I’m looking for people just willing to tell their story of how they got sucked into the intellectual whirlwind that is Wikipedia; how you got started editing, how the obsession grew, and what you spend your time focusing on these days? Do you write articles from scratch? Is your main push toward one particular type of article? Do you patrol for typos and errors, or spend your time diligently fixing vandalism? Do you take part in the “social aspects” of Wikipedia; engaging in animated discussions or decorating your user page with all sorts of internet memes? Have you ever forced yourself to take a “Wikipedia break”? If so, what’s your 20/20 hindsight on the obsession? Basically I’m just trying to get an idea of what it’s like for various Wikipedia “addicts.” If you are interested in participating, please email me at brianwrites@gmail.com
If anybody else, other than this user is interested in participating, feel free to email me as well. This article is intended to be a light informational piece, nothing too heavy or controversial, just merely introducing readers to a subculture that they likely had no idea existed. So please don’t email me with your conspiracy theories, or your grudge against the Wikipedia hierarchy… unless it directly applies to your overall experience with the site. This article is about the USERS, not about the pros and cons of the site itself.
Thanks,

[edit] Request for your opinion
Hey there. As a member of Wikiproject Web Animation I was wondering if you would have an opinion to share on the deletion nomination for Knox's upcoming film. Vote what you think is right (there are some good arguments pro and con) - I'm simply concerned that there aren't very many people on there making the decision. Esn 21:27, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Darknesslord.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Darknesslord.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:05, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

I was the author of Portal:The Legend of Zelda series: actually, Portal:The Legend of Zelda (now moved to Portal:The Legend of Zelda series) was created before Portal:Zelda. I just wanted to inform you that the userboxes were in the template space, not the user space. Wikipedia:Userbox migration. Thanks! Scepia 20:53, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- I apologize for that as well. Most of the problem is not being totally informed (and therefore not doing the userbox change correctly) and opposition. I should have asked them before I did that, but I was trying to get the userbox straightened out. Scepia 20:57, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
