[edit] Speedy deletion of Dark Heresy (band)

A tag has been placed on Dark Heresy (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Ah, I see what the mistake here was. You entered the links to sources, and that looked like promotion to me because it looked as if you were writing an article with the intention of getting links to those websites- a simple misunderstanding. A lot of new users find it difficult to write articles because there are a lot of things that you need to get into them before they can even be considered a good stub (a stub is a very short article)- they need context, content, sources, categories... I have restored the article to your userspace so that you can work on it without fear of it being deleted again- you can find it at User:Dark Heretic/Dark Heresy (band). Feel free to work on it until you feel it is ready to move into the article space, and then message me, I'll give it a quick proof read/add anything you have missed so that it is compliant with Wikipedia's more obscure guidelines and then I'll move it back into the article space for you. Thanks for contacting me like this, that was the right thing to do. J Milburn (talk) 12:10, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand what you mean by your reply following mine, but good luck with the article, feel free to message me if you need any help. J Milburn (talk) 12:50, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
The article can now be found at Dark Heresy. I reccomend now that you add related links- articles like list of death metal bands and such are places that you can add links so that the article is not orphaned. J Milburn (talk) 14:25, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
If someone else creates an article for the role-playing game, they will either write it at Dark Heresy (role-playing game) or move the band article to its original title. Perhaps they will do both, and have Dark Heresy as a disambiguation page. If there is any problem with any of that, feel free to message me and I can give you a hand with it all. However, as there is no other article needing the title at the moment, our guidelines say that the article on the band should be there, as we do not pre-emptively disambiguate. However, the article at the top level title (in this case, whatever is at Dark Heresy) should have a link at the top either to the other article, or a disambiguation page, if there is another article or disambiguation page to link to. Sorry, that was a rather messy way of explaining it, but, long story short, the article should be there (for now). J Milburn (talk) 18:43, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
