[edit] Black Sabbath
Hey dude, I am actually in the middle of a complete rewrite on Sabbath - I dug out a biography book I have on them and I am up to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath now. The article needs a complete overhaul, most stuff is unsourced and it is very sparse in the post Ozzy years. I'm not sure that the article should be broken up, though, it is gona be long, but Sabbath is Sabbath, be it the Ozzy years or the Tony Martin era - I think it should all be on the same page, just different chapters. But who knows, if it gets too long, it could possibly get seperated like Rush is, with a seperate page for "history", and a shortened version on the Rush page. [edit] Re: Am I Not Needed Here on Wikipedia?
Hey dude, relax - of course you are needed here. You just gotta find what you do best and work on that. Maybe its not the stuff you have been doing, maybe you reaserch online citations best, or make complete sentences better, or take stub articles and add more info to them.
Also talk pages of articles are generally reserved for talk on the article/improvement, ect. When you get into talking about the band or whatever, that kind of stuff is best saved for a metal bulletin board (ever check out Megadeth.com's forums? I post there, its a pretty big place)
Both Burningclean and M3tal H3ad are good editors, its just that probably a lot of edits you are doing are to their articles that have been through the GA/FA process, and are already up to snuff. You might work on taking smaller articles and bringing one up to GA. Like an alubm you love, or a band that you are passionate about that doesnt have a big page/GA/FA yet.
Just gotta find your niche, dude, keep at it! \m/ Skeletor2112 (talk) 06:08, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, I'm sorry if I have upset you with that stuff. I know quite a few editors are dicks (not naming any). I usually rid of your edits because you usually edit while I am rewriting the article. Most of the time I edit in my sandbox, because I make a million spelling errors etc., so I copy my work from the sandbox to the article, in turn overwriting your edits. Sorry about that. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 15:44, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- If I were you, I would start with SFU and Dying Fetus. Those look pretty easy, undergound bands typically are. In my opinion, for an editer who is recently really starting to make larger edits, articles with small history are best. Godsmack was the first one i really started and it was such a pain compared to now because it was so big. I usually have multiple editors look at articles I am really working on, so if you are good with spelling I'll let you know. You are probably on the most out of many editors anyway. I was thinking of working on Pantera too. Maybe we should put together a collaberation (you, Nufy8, and I) and then get it to FA. I think it would be friggen awesome getting Dimebag up to FA. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 04:47, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- The best way to pick up skills for GA / FA writing is for a peer review really. I've noticed you've done this, and are awaiting feedback - I'll try and review it for you. If you need any advice, give me a bell. One thing on Wikipedia I've learnt though is to leave an article alone if someone else is rewriting it, since it usually ends up in conflict. [edit] GA
Sweet! If you don't mind, I will take a look at the article later. I'll give you the steps in a bullet order:
- Place {{GAnominee|~~~~~}} (Yes, 5 tidles, not four)
- Go to WP:GAN
- Go to the "Music" section (a quick way to do the last two steps it to follow this: [1])
- place {{la|Six Feet Under}} ~~~~ (four tidles this time)
That's all. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 21:32, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh wait, dude, you are going to do a lot more sourcing on the page before you nominate it. There are only to citations. The page looks great, but there is no verifibility right now. I belive you are talking about Six Feet Under and if you are not, then I am sorry and screw this comment. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 21:34, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, there are still some sourcing issues. I reccomend waiting for GA. in the meantime follow the directions at WP:PR. I will review there. Other editors will review also and you might want to ask others for help too. Check out the articles listed on these pages to see examples of what a good article is like: WP:HMM/GA, User:Burningclean/article examples, and User:Burningclean/article examples/heavy metal. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 01:43, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey dude, I think BurningClean was the one who mentioned working on Pantera or SFU, but I will gladly help with both once I finish up Sabbath. Good luck! \m/ Skeletor2112 (talk) 11:18, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Opeth —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 16:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Personally, I don't see a big deal with having just the web link (it looks sloppy and that's it) but it is needed for any GA. That is just the standard format. The article is certainly looking better. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 04:12, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] GAN possibilities
Well there are a few bands out there with a bit more work to do (especially on sources for the most part). Some could very well get to the next level if we have sources ready and many of them have the opportunity to really grow. For example on some artists we have Alchemist (which is mostly a ghost town most of the time), they deserve recognition and all of their information is very easy to source with a timeline of events on their site among other things like interviews. The article obviously needs an overhaul to the next level, along with sources and especially free-use images would really improve its quality, at the moment it is B-class. We also have Nightwish that has been nominated for a featured article but was turned down for reasons on its FAC archive and put down to B-class. The article is lengthy but lacks sources, needs cleanup and those album covers need strong rationales or they will go. Theres also Sonata Arctica of coarse with expansion could be a worthy candidate, same thing with Stratovarius. And to continue, we have Pain of Salvation, Queensrÿche, Helloween, Soilwork, Fear Factory to name some and many more that could be more on the lines for Good Article Nominee. Although those aren't all death metal bands and I should of said "I know a few articles that should be reviewed which are B-class and others that could be Good Article Candidates at some point (with some a lot of work). I'll look for more death metal ones that are ready for review (although I'm not quite sure where to begin with the peer review thing). For SFU, peer review is obviously done first to pin point out what we should be fixing, so I look forward to the review and see what someone has to say about it. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 01:59, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Down
Actually, Down is already done. It's just waiting to be reviewed at GAN. I think you wanted me to tell you, Opeth is at FAC. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 21:58, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] SFU samples
Hey dude, I'm not really into Six Feet Under, so I dont have the albums to upload clips from. But its a pretty easy process, you just take a 30 second clip of the song you want to use, and convert it into .ogg, and upload it as a image (with a rationale like other sound clips). you can use a lot of differnt programs to cut up the sample, I use Pro Tools, but it is mainly used for audio production, and it is pretty expensive. I am sure there are free mp3 editors and stuff you can download at cnet.com or somthing.
How is the article coming? Are you still working on it? Have you adressed the points listed on the peer review page? Once you start working through the suggestions, its good to strike them out on the Peer Review page. After a quick glance, the article still has a ton of POV stuff... anything descriptive, like "brutal", or whatever, has to be removed. Basically, any adjectives. Getting an article up to GA takes a bit of work, daily editing, and response to all points left at the peer review. Good luck! \m/ Skeletor2112 (talk) 08:16, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- I suggest using Audacity which is free. M3tal H3ad (talk) 02:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- You could also ask Brandt Luke Zorn for help. He's the one I go to for help. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 20:01, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks dude! You too!! —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 23:33, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- Not sure why you're asking so many people how to do samples when Skeletor2112 told you how. M3tal H3ad (talk) 05:09, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

There is alot of stuff left unsourced. The entre first paragraph, the mention of recording a song in 4min 20sec. You still use SFU instead of the band's name and still odn't have formated sources. It looks good at a first glance, but delving into it, it still has to get some stuff done before GAN. Burningclean [speak] 18:51, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Slipknot AoF #3
The third AoF has been decided, Iowa (album) is the article chosen by default due to single nomination. You can see what this task is for and its aims here. As you are a member of the Slipknot WikiProject, your participation in this task is greatly welcomed and the quicker and better that we improve the article, the more efficient the project will become. Please head over the the talk page and identify areas for improvement on the to-do list and begin to achieve these goals. Collaboration is the key word for the AoF and collaborating with 1 or more users on certain tasks is recommended, communications can be made on the articles talk page or on user's talk pages. Nominations are now open for the fourth AoF so head over to the AoF talk page and nominate which article you think should recieve the attention next. REZTER TALK ø 22:28, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Yo! I need you to fix up my talk page again (Cause i still dont know crap :P )
I was wondering if you could make me one of those kick@$$ tables that all the bands (and yourself) have on the right side of the page in your user page. If you just add it and tell me what to do, Ill be able to handle the rest. Thanks alot!--Kornography (talk) 01:51, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I'd be more than welcome
I'd be more than welcome to help any sort of editing you may need, for how young I am I know a lot about the metal scene. Any specific articles need editing? You can send em right over for me and I'll see what I can do to help out. §hðwñðMêr¢¥ (talk) 23:25, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Well we might want to post their logo and a live-photo of the entire band first, if that's possible under wikipedia's image policy. §hðwñðMêr¢¥ (talk) 23:33, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Alright, I'll look into adding a logo and a live-photo as the default image. I personally have no idea how to add sound-samples either myself. §hðwñðMêr¢¥ (talk) 23:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
