[edit] Starport: Galactic Empires (again)

Hello! I thought I'd let you know that I've removed the speedy tag on Starport: Galactic Empires, as the AfD closed with no prejudice towards recreation and thus the speedy deletion criteria G4 probably doesn't apply. Henrik 12:51, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

I restored it. That delete tag is iregardless of prejudice against recreation. The fact is that the article was deleted over certain concerns, and, despite the fact that there is no prejudice against recreation, the new article completely fails to address any of the reasons it was deleted in the first place. More to the point, if it genuinely does not apply, then I think it's down to an admin to make that call, not you. DarkSaber2k 12:53, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
I saw that. I'm not going to revert you, but User:Shas seems to me to be making a good faith effort, so I'd like to give a reminder about assuming good faith and not biting the newbies. Why not give the article a day or two, to see if User:Shas can make something of it? Henrik 12:58, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm not assuming bad faith, but I DO know he's wasting his time. I did all the usual searches for sources and notability etc before I put the article for AfD the last time it was here. Turned up bugger all that would ever be accepted. Even now, their best sources are two directory listing, the sort that have never and in all likelihood, will never be accepted as either reliable sources or a source of notability. The basic analogy is that it's like trying to argue you should have an article about yourself because you are listed in the phonebook. There is of course the slim chance that in the, what is it, week, 2 weeks? since the article was deleted reliable sources have shown up, but I'm sceptical at best. [edit] Leomism

I am quite angry at the senseless deletion of the "Leomism" page. It is a serious class where one first learns about Leom, and is then filled with the spirit and becomes a new, creative person. It was not made up one days, but instead evolved from an idea that creativity was dying. You did not give the proper time to source our quotes or add additional information. Also, I did not enjoy the fact that you removed the information from my page. This can easily be viewed as a slap to my beliefs or as a senseless grudge. Thanks

Whinge all you like, it's still not notable or verifiable through reliable sources. Good day. Oh and FYI, I didn't delete the article, and the information on your user page was a blatant violation of Wikipedia policies (just like all your other edits have been so far today.) Persistent failure to even briefly read, never mind adhere to wikipedias policies can easily be viewed as a slap to people who are telling you what the problems are and providing links to further information about the problems, or as an abuse of wikipedias 'anyone can edit' ethic for private benefit. DarkSaber2k 15:20, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

That is the problem: there is no web site. It is simply a class that is based around a belief. Aside from a myspace group, there is no information.

I can see now that not sourcing this page was wrong. I had the information on my user page (which I didn't realize would be displayed for all to see...sorry) to work on later. I have chosen to drop the idea, even though I still see it as a valid page. It was a class that I wanted to add research on for all to see. Thanks for informing me on Wikipedia's policies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rowandswim (talkcontribs) 00:47, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Richard Caddock

I read your talk and to me he seems to qualify as a noteable person. As I provided the Youtube link to his Clan page which has a signifcant fanbase. Please tell me what exactlty is wrong with that?

[edit] Email

Are you able to enable and validate email on your account? Many thanks! FT2 (Talk | email) 10:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Um, why? My e-mail address is private, I don't really want to be reachable on it by wikipedia editors. DarkSaber2k 10:31, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Email on wikipedia is anonymous. It allows other editors to email you via the web link Special:Emailuser/DarkSaber2k but they are not informed of your email address (and it isn't accessible to them) unless and until you actually reply. You can reply without giving your email address by likewise using the other person's "email this user" link rather than responding from your email client.
As such, wikipedia email is rarely abused. You can also set up a "dummy" email that forwards to your actual one, and which you can sever connection from, if you ever wish.
And yes, there was a reason :) If you're okay with discussing this once by email then feel free to use the email link in my signature, which'll let me reply (but nobody else sees it). If you'd still rather not, then let me know, and it's not a problem to post it on your talk page instead. FT2 (Talk | email) 14:47, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I don't have a problem with discussing stuff on my talk page, I'm really not prepared to make myself available outside of wikipedia in any form to be honest. DarkSaber2k 14:56, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
See my talk page. FT2 (Talk | email) 16:08, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Milo Minns

This dog enjoys an incredibly high profile in his local area and ur decision to delete is clearly unwise. Milo Minns has been involved in a large number of community projects and has very notable heritage. It would be in wikipedia communities interest not to delete this page.

My 'clearly unwise' decision is very clearly based around the fact the article really doesn't assert notability, lacks reliable sources and is unverifiable. Dogs are not inherently notable just because their great-great-great (etc) grandmother was owned by someone famous. DarkSaber2k 13:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Milo Minns again

I emplore you not to delete this page!! Milo Minns is much loved in his local community and it would be devested if this article was removed. Milo Minns' heritage is unique. He is the only living decendant from the first golden retriever to arrive in Australia in 1798. Also he is a major spokesperson for Guide Dogs Australia adoption program!!!

Jesus fucking christ, will you listen to yourself. DarkSaber2k 13:32, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bikram Dasgupta

Would you mind sharing why you wanted Bikram Dasgupta to be removed?

If its for the same reasons you have given, how come Bill Gates and Microsoft Copr is mentioned in Wiki??

[edit] 4th UK Brigade

LOL....its evidently clear that your removal status on my page (and many other complaints that i have read) seem to be personal. Whats this crock of shit about "notable" blah blah blah ?????

Jesus......talk about abusing powers !!

Tip for everyone....get yourself a website hosting company and create your own pages,.....lot less troublesome than some jerk showing off his powers —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4thdesign (talkcontribs) — 4thdesign (talkcontribs) has made no other edits outside this topic.

This 'crock of shit' as you call it happens to be the notability criteria for an article to be on wikipedia. This prevents people trying to abuse wikipedia by adding vanity pages about clans (or anything else) no-ones ever heard of and can't prove notability. Your tip, however, is a very very good one. There are plenty of free web providers where you can put up any old stuff you like, especially stuff that is never going to be accepted as a valid article here on wikipedia. DarkSaber2k 12:30, 16 July 2007 (UTC) (Edited to remove my swearing, there was no need for it) DarkSaber2k 14:42, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

LOL......See what i mean....PERSONAL mate....Keep your day job going, and good luck with that heart attack thats coming to ya. Have a nice day and try not to swear too much....it only shows your immaturity.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 4thdesign (talkcontribs) — 4thdesign (talkcontribs) has made no other edits outside this topic.

Yes indeed, describing wikipedia policies as a 'crock of shit' certainly wouldn't give the best impression of maturity would it. Keep kidding yourself that your clan is big enough for this to be personal. Never heard of you before the article, will never look further into you now the articles gone. DarkSaber2k 12:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Ha....there you go again, who said anything about "Keep kidding yourself that your clan is big enough " ????.....You're making it up as you go along to justify your own powertrips. Wake up mate....get a real job and spread some peace !!!!—Preceding unsigned comment added by 4thdesign (talkcontribs) — 4thdesign (talkcontribs) has made no other edits outside this topic.

No thanks. But by all means keep talking. Better you wasting your own time here than wasting other peoples time by creating more articles that are going to quickly deleted. DarkSaber2k 12:50, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeah good idea mate....dont want to keep you from stopping other wikis from being shown.....am sure you have lots to delete !! By the way.....providing an argument with me has enabled hits on the website i was trying to wiki on. Cheers easy

Done yet? DarkSaber2k 13:13, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rule the Rail! and Rule the Rail! 2: Iron Horses

I have changed the speedy tags to prods, because the articles contained content and context, they were not eligible for deletion through criteria A1 or A3. They were also not eligible for deletion through any other speedy criterion, so I changed to prod based on insufficient notability. Leebo T/C 15:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tagging of James Burke (racing driver)

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on James Burke (racing driver). I do not think that James Burke (racing driver) fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because the page asserts the importance of the subject with "numerous race wins and podium finishes" and by alleging significant media coverage, so this is not an A7 speedy. COI is not a speedy deletion reason, and this is not currently a "blatant advertisement" or no more so than most pages about athletes. I suggest that you take this to AfD if you think it should be deleted. I request that you consider not re-tagging James Burke (racing driver) for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk) 16:59, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Milo Minns

I can't belive that someone like you could remove this page from the web. Milo is a community icon and it was nessecary to capture its memory before he died. As a member of the community I am astounded that someone could be so inconciderate, that he would not only removed the page, but destroyed the memory of a once great dog!

[edit] Hello "DarthSword 2,000"

I just wanted you to help me with a page. I moved the page, "Covenant Elite" to "Covenant Elite (Halo)". If you're around and aren't busy (or have a sec), I'd like you to help get rid of some double redirects. If you can send a message somewhat like this one to all the people you know on Wikipedia, that would cheese (I mean please) me a lot. Thank you "ShadowScithe2Karats." :)

                                                                  Kinkijui KNK! 21:35, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I've noticed several TribalWars page deletion notices i don't get

I want to create a tribal wars page, but i speedily found out that i couldn't due to the amount of TW pages already deleted. After a search which shows every page that links to what you search I found several deletion notices on different profiles on what seems to be the fact that tribal wars is not significant. I think (and several people seem to agree) that Tribal Wars is a significant game that is well known and i don't see why any TW page should be deleted under basis that it is not significant. Can you clear this up? Kcollis (talk) 16:33, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
