[edit] Argument for Arnos Grove tube station being in Arnos Grove (i.e. not New Southgate)
Here are the main points in my argument:
1. Arnos Grove is not a new place that has just been made up - see this map from 1881. (Arnos Grove and Arno's Grove Wood are to the north-east of Colney Hatch (now known as New Southgate), which was the only substantial 'village' in the area at that time).
2. Numerous shops, facilities and events around Arnos Grove tube station are advertised as being located in Arnos Grove. For example, Arnos Park is described as being in Arnos Grove in this article.
3. Bus stops surrounding Arnos Grove tube station, served by buses heading towards the station, bear the informative statement 'Towards Arnos Grove', and buses passing through the area have a sign on the side saying 'via Arnos Grove' [1].

Thanks for doing this, it was on my list ... specific local knowledge is better! Any attractions you know of? Kbthompson 17:02, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I think there are at least 5 museums in Enfield. This website will probably contain information about all of the attractions in Enfield. Dark-Fire 18:08, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
A convenient list of attractions can be found here. I will add them now. Dark-Fire 18:15, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
I have added some of the attractions from the list I linked to above. Dark-Fire 18:26, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
