Otherwise known as Non-Playable Stages, this is the list of stages from the Super Smash Bros. Series that can't be played on normally without the help of a Gameshark or an Action Replay.

[edit] Super Smash Bros.
This is the list of NPS's for the first game.
[edit] Metal Cave
Metal Cave is where Metal Mario is fought. The stage itself is a small platform, with an even smaller platform above it. The background is a bunch of crystal formations. It's based off of Metal Cave in Super Mario 64. It's a bit like the "how to play stage".
[edit] Fighting Polygon's Lair
Fighting Polygon Team is fought here. The stage is similar to Dream Land, with the three-platform layout, and was later named the Battle Field in Super Smash brothers Melee. The background is kind of a light purple color. Unlike most stages, this one isn't from a particular game. This stage has no hazards.
[edit] Master Hand's Domain
Of course, Master Hand is fought on this stage. In Super Smash Bros Melee, the stage was renamed Final Destination. Unlike Final Destination in SSBM, Master Hand's Domain is small. The stage itself consists of only one platform, perfect for all-out battles. There's also, like Fighting Polygon's Lair, no hazards, and no apparent theme. Unfortunately there's currently no way to use the stages in VS mode.
[edit] How to Play Stage
This stage is used in the opening to describe how all the moves work, it is a model of Dreamland in early development. This stage has a simple layout, with only a small ledge. The camera doesn't move at all to the left of the stage, and flying off the right side of the camera results in instant death.
[edit] Target Tests
These stages can be played on, and when all the targets are broken, the game just ends. The game just freezes when one tries to use this stage in VS Mode.
[edit] Board the Platforms
See target Test. Boarding all the platforms causes the game to end.
[edit] Race to the Finish
Pretty much the best place for screwing around and such. Hazards include moving bumpers and exploding spheres. When someone reaches the goal, the game ends. It's possible to knock an opponent through a wall to KO them, but it's not likely to happen.
[edit] Training Stages
Just like the 9 normal playable stages, but if you look at the background, the SSB symbol is seen.
[edit] Small Stage
Dream Land only a lot smaller. It can just barely fit four people. Unlike Dream Land, some textures are different and one can pass through the main platform.
[edit] New Stage
One of the larger stages, this one has a random mass on one side, as well as moving platforms, and messed up moving flowers. There's an invisible platform floating over the left side of the field. Unlike in the other Dream Land themed stages, none of the platforms can be passed through. Like How to Play and Small Stage, this stage also has the Dream Land theme.
[edit] Intro Stage
The stage that appears in the intro. It's not yet known if this stage is even playable or not. It has the Peach's Castle theme.
[edit] Super Smash Bros. Melee
This is the list of NPS's for the sequel.
[edit] Target Tests
See Target Test. The round ends as it were a Vs. Match when all targets are hit.
- Beta Target Test
- This stage is like any other target test stage... Only it has 1 platform, few targets, and no texture.
[edit] Race to the Finish
Another stage created only to make the player complete a simple goal. Again, ends as it were a Vs. Match if someone reaches a goal.
[edit] Adventure Mode Stages
All the adventure mode stages are playable in this game. Any of those stages that include a random character appearing causes the game to freeze. If a player is out of view on the top or bottom of the window (no matter what), they instantly die.
[edit] Trophy Stage
Another small stage with a kind-of funnel in the center, and two small platforms floating over one large one (similar to PokeMon Stadium). Freezes when the trophies start falling. There is a code that disables the falling trophies, enabling use as a stage.
[edit] Scenery Stage
The stage in between All-Star matches, ends as it were a Vs. Match when someone steps into the light.
[edit] Home Run Contest Stage
This stage is the LONGEST stage in any SSB game. Once a player goes a certain distance, they will pass through the floor. The only true way to KO someone is to knock them off the top of the screen.
[edit] Test Stage
The stage is about three times the size of Hyrule Temple, and apparently has some obstacles (in platforms) and some different colors for each texture (gray is normal, red is lava, blue is slippery). There's also what looks like a coffee shop in the background, and unlike most other stages, this one has a full 360 background. The music is that of Corneria.
[edit] Dummy
Freezes normally, but a code was recently found that disabled this freezing. The stage is blank, and fighters just fall endlessly.
[edit] Ice Top
Freezes normally, but a code was recently found that disabled this freezing. The stage is just like Icicle Mountain, only with no music.
[edit] Trophy Tussle Stages
These three stages are only playable normally in event matches 14, 26, and 47. There's a Goomba, Entei, and Majora's Mask, which make up each stage. The backgrounds are the same as in battlefield.
[edit] Akaneia
A Fire Emblem stage that was taken out in the final release. The action replay can recover fragments of the stage, but no one really knows what it looks like.
