What this page will do:
- Sometimes "sneaky vandals" change dates, numbers, or add false information to articles without being obvious about it. If a user who is watching these vandals needs to sign off, the vandal might be able to continue in this manner for a while before he is recognized. (This is in the situation that the vandal has not accumulated enough warnings to be blocked or listed at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism.) With a "watchlist" page like this one, though, vandals could be posted here and watched by others, while the original watcher may sign off free from uncertainty about what else the vandal might do unnoticed.
- Occasionally, some IP vandals will vandalize sporadically but persistently over a long period of time, always up until a {{subst:test4}} level warning, and then cease their actions for a while but contine at a later time. These IPs may not be eligible to be listed at Wikipedia:Long term abuse, but could be put here and monitored.
What this page wil not do:
- Replace Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism for reporting blocks needed immediately
- Replace Wikipedia:Long term abuse for reporting sustained abuse over a fairly long period of time
Welcome to Wikipedia:Persistent vandalism. This page is designed to provide editors with a place where they can list vandals who are not acceptable for listing on either Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism or Wikipedia:Long term abuse. Please read through both of these pages first and only list here if the nature of the vandalism and the number of warnings given make the vandal ineligible for inclusion on either of these two pages.
If you need to sign off but want to make sure a vandal is monitored, want to call attention to a sporadic but perennial vandal, or want vandals to be monitored for a short time for any other reason, please add them to the bottom of the section below the horizontal line with {{user|USERNAME}}. Do not add users if you are engaged in a content dispute with them.
- Example user name (talk ยท contribs) I have to go to bed, but this user keeps adding one day to the release dates of Pink Floyd albums even though I have warned him/her. (e.g. September 15 -> 16) Could you keep an eye on him/her? Thanks, Dar-Ape 00:02, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
