[edit] Not autobiographical

This may or may not be meaningful, given the anonymity of the web, but I can assert entry is not autobiographical. I'm the subject of this article (I recently discovered it via server logs). I suspect the writer of this article gathered this information from a bio, either [from my website] or elsewhere. I leave it up to objective editors to judge my notability, but as per Wikipedia's guidelines, I'll edit this article to correct inaccuracies and add sources. -- Dbarefoot 05:19, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Remove link to blog in reference section

I'm the subject of this article, and thus will not edit it. However, it's Wikipedia's policy not to use blog posts as source material, so I'd recommend removing reference #4, which links to my site. If you need a link, this one is at least more authoritative, and might constitute an reasonable source: http://www.tuaw.com/2007/07/05/rumor-apple-patent-points-to-iphone-nano/. [edit] Reference removed

True, but the link you've suggested just says that the site exists, but it does not say that you created it. I've removed the reference, but I'm not adding the one you've mentioned. I think it might be a bit more appropriate if the reference actually refer to you as the creator of the site since the article is about you and not about the iPhatigue site.

I've checked on Google as well, most of the results are blog posts and I couldn't find anything else that might be appropriate as a reference. Could someone help me with this?

[edit] New reference to add?

I'm the subject of this article, and therefore won't edit it. However, I did want to suggest this CMJ article (http://prod1.cmj.com/articles/display_article.php?id=51047514) as a possible addition to the 'References' section.

[edit] SOS! (Same old story)

I was the one who first came up with this page. I had forgotten about it until I visited the Second Life page wishing for more information about it when I saw Darren's parody site come up. I then clicked on this page and saw the non-notability tag.

I am worried that this page may be deleted because this has happened before. I created or modified pages for the following people: Rich Hollenberg (TV show host), Steve Beverly (college professor), Joe Pedicino/Boni Blackstone (pro wrestling husband-and-wife hosts). All of them were wiped out due to their lack of notability. Also for the same reason, the Ripple Networks page was tagged within five minutes of my creation and I erased it within two days. So obviously my definition of notability is not yours.

If this continues, I may be discouraged from creating any further pages. And I would hate to do that.

Although it looks like Darren wants to come through with some sources, it is up to the rest of you out there to do the same. This page will not go down without a fight! - Desmond Hobson (talk) 18:50, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Desmond, thanks for pulling for the article. Looks like somebody came by yesterday and removed the notability tag (and added some stuff). We'll see if it sticks. I, too, have had articles deleted. I find that editors are particularly sensitive about company pages, which, I suppose, is fair enough.Dbarefoot (talk) 16:16, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
