Talk:Darndale
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Darndale is a substantial area, and it would be nice to see more on the district as it is, not just the negatives. A picture would also help, I can try to make one when back in a couple of weeks. Also, Priorswood is not = Darndale, so I propose to create a separate article within the week unless there is a genuine objection. For now, some of the social issues points, at least, need backing citations. Skir77 07:12, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Agree. I'd remove pretty much the whole "social issues" section unless citations come along within a week. BastunBaStun not BaTsun 20:52, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
So, since submitted -
Northside People - survey of Dublin region's found area's of highest early school leavers - Moatview area of Priorswood, Sheriff Street and Shangan (East Ballymun) - further extened to area codes with Dublin 17 (Darndale/Priorswood/Belcamp) topping survey and offset by VEC and Dublin City Council survey findings that working class south-west areas of Dublin have 2-3 times higher rates of third level enterance than designated working-class area's of Dublin's north-east, namely Ballymun and Darndale.
Does seem vague. And this refers to a survey, not sound figures such as from school and college returns. And D17 is much bigger than Darndale. Cybercafe again, so cut off before signature, sorry. Found mirror phrasing in Jobstown article (there appears to be none on Neilstown). Twilson r 06:43, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Will be good to have some pics of this famous area. There does seem to be some agenda about, with someone trying to include opinion on social matters in this and other articles. Surely not encyclopedic! 217.213.75.145 08:05, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Constant negative statements
In yet another variation (even two attempts), assertions have been added - but despite long tagging, still not backed by a single citation or provable fact. Could the person(s) responsible please provide their facts? 213.141.159.142 07:44, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Removed till proper citations appear. BastunBaStun not BaTsun 12:21, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

- Well done BaStun! I was going to do this before but hesitated, as I was not so long here. At the end of the day, I am not from Darndale and have no axe to grind, but am weary of what was clearly a campaign. If there are facts, and matters the area will hopefully overcome, grand to see them noted, in an appropriate way. But not the constant assertions (especially with a long-running agenda of trying to build-up in some opposing way various southern districts). On with the work... Skir77 18:35, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Coordinates wrong!
Not for the first time, I clicked on the coordinates and found myself in the wrong place - in this case, the area where Coolock meets Raheny, at least a km on a diagonal away from Darndale. I will leave this to more expert hands to fix. 83.250.192.38 21:17, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
