Merge

These topics should be merged into one article for clean-up and simplification purposes. --Kunzite 01:15, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't think I agree with this. It seems like a good idea in theory, but it might create more problems than it solves (thinking Zatch Bell mamodo/human paired articles here). Danny Lilithborne 03:44, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
From that I can tell that Zatch Bell article is a huge ugly list that it violates the style rules at WP:Anime. (i.e. No individual headings for characters.) If they were seperate articles, I would personally go in and put them on AfD. The DK articles are mostly prose. (With a bit of listyness inherent in all Anime articles.) I also plan on doing citations and moving the otakucruft to the notes section. --Kunzite 12:36, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
I was referring to the Zatch Bell character articles such as Zatch Bell and Kiyo Takamine. The list of ZB characters, I put up for AfD myself. Danny Lilithborne 00:43, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
I see and I disagree. I think you guys should just merge all of the major characters into one neat tidy article. Stubs are bad and a lot of stubs are worse. --Kunzite 02:06, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I also have to disagree with this. I believe these characters are important enough to all share the same page, but merging with the Dark Kingdom Page would simply clutter and make a mess of things. Tenchichan 06:08, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
How would clutter the two entire sentences here? --Kunzite 23:26, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm talking specifically about the Shitenno page. It is too much information to have to share along side the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl and Queen Metallia. Just because there is little information written about the Dark Kingdom, doesn't mean it should be merged with a thousand different articles. It needs to be expanded on, not merged. There's a lot of missing information. Tenchichan

Newer merge

Since the old merge proposal has been there several months with no action taken, I'm changing it. I've made a proposal about the Villain sections which is described in full here--the summary is that each villain set gets a central article, which describes their origins and goals. The leader's bio also lives there, since they almost never have enough info for a full article. Subgroups get a team article (like the Shitennou), and major leaders with enough info for it get their own articles.

For SM Classic, that means this breakdown:

Please share your thoughts or make a vote! --Masamage 21:50, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

If there's no problem with merging in Queen Metallia (who just received a "start class" ranking, lending support to the idea), I'm going to move forward with it tomorrow, September 2nd. --Masamage 17:15, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
My original plan was to merge Beryl and Metallia into this article and then summarize and link the legnthy Shitennou articles. Beryl's article isn't very long. --Kunzite 03:46, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, I guess that could work. A lot of length goes away if you move the "Kuroki Mio" section to "PGSM" (which I definately think we should--talk about your huge spoilers). I think Beryl could be long enough, but let's go ahead and merge her too, for now. I'll move the deadline up to September 3rd to allow for other comments. --Masamage 08:52, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
I did the Kuroki Mio thing, and if no one has a problem with this merge--now bringing Queen Beryl and Metallia in here, as well as adding youma information--I'll go ahead with it September 5th. --Masamage 00:53, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Changes

68.200.81.62, the article is in a very good state right now. If you think there is something that needs changing, please bring up that matter here rather than engaging in a full-scale all-at-once mass revision which leaves the article littered with spelling and grammar mistakes which then have to be cleaned up. If someone has a good idea for improving the article, but spelling and grammar isn't their forte, I'm more than willing to step in and do some cleanup. But I don't know what you're trying to accomplish with your recent edits. I don't see how it makes the article better-organized or more comprehensible or anything like that -- I can't tell what effect you're aiming for, only the side effects that are showing up. -- Antaeus Feldspar 17:21, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • I see, I only converted the existing text & split it up into three chapters...Beryl as shown in the manga (Her death is different from the anime{She died before the sailors went to her palace}, & this pretty much mentions her past life & her relationship to Endymion), the anime chapter, & the live-action chapter{Which details how she was in the series, the relationship with her minions, & how she died}. But I would be glad if you check my work out & fix any problem with it.

Mio Kuroki merged here

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mio Kuroki. Johnleemk | Talk 16:57, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

from the Silver Millennium to the present time (thousand years)

in the mana Queen Serenity said that when sealed negaverse she was still in shock of her daughter's death that the seal was incomplete, so it might have taken her about a thousand years to escape the seal.

Mio Kuroki suggestion

Having that name redirect here is a massive spoiler. I suggest having a snippet about her on the PGSM article, and redirecting there instead. --Masamage 19:54, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

OK I have no idea about Sailor Moon I just thought I'd admit that right now. --laurap414 00:27, Feb 16, 2005 (UTC)

"Like all arch-villains in the Sailor Moon universe, she is a descendant of the final arch-villain Chaos." How can Chaos be the final arch-villain if he(?) has descendants who are also arch-villains? --Catrachohansen 23:59, 3 October 2005 (UTC)

because chaos is the last villain the others are the final of that series like queen metallia is the final of sailor moon "classic"

Beryl's past

A lot of what is said about Beryl's past in this article is not stated as such in the manga. She is not to my knowledge introduced as a magician, and nor is there anything known about how she reappeared in the present. Also, I cannot remember an instance of the Shitennou turning on her. If there are other sources for all of this, please state them. --KagamiNoMiko 23:11, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Good grief, you're right. I looked it up and changed that section around somewhat according to what I discovered. How does it look? Did I miss anything? --Masamage 01:00, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
No, it looks fine now. Good work. ;) --KagamiNoMiko 09:46, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

On the subject of the magician issue you raised, a magician is someone who can do magic and Beryl obviously can. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.27.99.186 (talk • contribs)

The article used to say she had been a court magician of noble blood, which was basically fanfiction. That's what we were referring to; it's been removed. --Masamage 23:51, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

I took the liberty of making a small change in the manga section. The article stated that it is unknown how Beryl met her end in the Silver Millennium. I'm pretty sure Venus has a flashback of her past self killing Beryl with the sword after Princess Serenity's death (right before her present self kills Beryl a second time.) It's in Act 12 of the manga, if you want to see what I mean. Yumecosmos 05:03, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Wow, excellent catch! I'd never noticed that before, I guess because there are no words in that panel. Thank you! I'll cite it. :) --Masamage 06:09, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Spoilers

>.<;; There is a spoiler image upfront and center... and it's missing spoiler tags... can't there be a good fix for this? --Hitsuji Kinno 18:02, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I say we get rid of that image altogether. It's not really contributing. --Masamage 21:21, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Beryl never reappearing

Someone is making this change over and over. I feel like I've reverted it enough times that I shouldn't again without bringing it up. If you feel it should be reverted, please do that. --Masamage 18:23, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Alright, alright. I'm sorry to say it was me who kept making the change as I feel it is an important detail which needs stating. I really don't see why you consider it irrelevant. All the same I'm sorry if I've offended you.

Anon (—Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.93.21.97 (talkcontribs) )

Thank you for finally coming to discuss it; that's a huge relief. I just don't understand your reasoning, is all; why would she reappear in the dub when we've already said she's dead and gone in the original version? That would require DiC's drawing completely new episodes. --Masamage 16:21, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

I see. Yes, good point but I was thinking sometimes dubs differ from their anime counterparts in my experience. Never mind. I suppose we should remove it.

Anon (—Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.93.21.97 (talkcontribs) )

Come to think of it, I guess that's true. There are a lot of examples of that in this article I read the other day. Still, those are all comparitively small.
I hope you don't feel chased-off. ^^; Several of the things you've added have since been worked in (like a better explanation of the 'Negaverse' thing). Contributions of that sort are always appreciated. --Masamage 20:54, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Why thank you.

Negaverse As In Darkwing Duck?

There should be a disambiguation page for people searching for the Negaverse that's part of Darkwing Duck's television show. It should link to http://www.freewebs.com/freepsychicreadings/thehourofthecoven.htm just to be safe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Misscorinn (talkcontribs)

Disambiguation pages only link to WP articles, but there could certainly be a disambig page that linked to Dark Kingdom and Darkwing Duck. I'll go set that up. --Masamage 20:32, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Empress Metallia

I'm 85% certain this is a fandom title, but am I misremembering? Anyone know? --Masamage 00:12, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

The Vol. I Artbook lists her name in Katakana as "Queen Metallia" (クイン・メタリア) although it's a little cut off at the top. Queen Beryl is named beneath her and it's noticable that the first three characters are the same. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 00:35, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that seems good for the manga. How about the anime? English dub? (My husband, who has seen the dub more recently than I, confirms that he never ever remembers the Negaforce being called by any other name. Not necessarily proof, of course.) --Masamage 01:11, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that "Metallia" was never mentioned in the Dub. In the original, it was "Metallia-sama" I believe. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 01:24, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

In the dub it never mentions the name Metallia it just calls her the Negaforce [I should know, I used to watch it all the time] but I did read a thing about Sailor Moon somewhere that referred to Metallia as "Empress Metallia" so I assumed this was her name in the not-dubbed Japanese Anime.

You and your husband watch Sailor Moon? Cool!

Anon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.93.21.39 (talkcontribs)

Ahh, I see! Thanks. :) I don't have the Japanese season 1 on hand right now, but I'm pretty sure that they pronounce her title "Kuin." I know for certain that that's what they call her in PGSM. Anyone seen the Japanese series 1 more recently than me?
Thanks again for your contributions. ^__^ And yes, we do! Our marriage is largely built on being happy and dorky. X) --Masamage 17:44, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Aww, that's nice.

Anon—Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.93.21.39 (talkcontribs)

Yay for dorkiness!
Also, I've been talking to my sister, and she actually just watched series one in Japanese about a month ago. She's pretty confident that they never said Empress at all, so I feel okay leaving that out. (If anyone ever discoveres an instance of it, though, of course we'll add it back in.) --Masamage 23:24, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
